Welder Certification
Colorado Welding Institute offers welder certification by an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)/American Society of Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Level II professional. Certification testing is offered for welders who are seeking to obtain certifications in all welding procedures in the following positions:

1G - a flat position in 1G (Groove)

2G - a horizontal position in 2G (Groove)

3G - a vertical position in 3G (Groove)

4G - an overhead position in 4G (Groove)

5G - in a pipeline weld, one or both ends are fixed, the weld direction changes and the positions may be flat, vertical or overhead in 5G (Groove).

6G - in a pipeline weld, the pipe will be unmovable and the weld will need to be at a 45 degree angle. A 6G certification will certify the welder for all positions.
After successfully passing a welding certification, the welding student or employee will be provided with a Welder Qualification Test Report (WQTR).
Nondestructive Testing and Inspection
The following inspections are performed by an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)/American Society of Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Level II professional:
